Hmmm . . . Where did the mud come from?

Brock took the kids out for a ride on the Ranger and when they came home they were covered in mud and even their faces had mud on them. Now I know that they wear helmets and I know that Brock drives very slowly and avoids all mudholes so . . . where did the mud come from? :-)

Nothing like hot chocolate to warm up a cold, muddy kid!

First Birthday Celebration

Although Hannah's birthday was May 24th we celebrated it while my parents were visiting. She was very excited and aware of fact that whatever was going on revolved around HER and she enjoyed the spotlight :-)

"Are you serious, these are really for ME!"

"Wow, this is too much - you really shouldn't have!"

"My mom never stops putting that thing in my face, I finally figured out that if I smile right away she stops. If I can get her to stop I can see what all these presents are!"

"I guess that didn't work, she wants me to wear this silly hat that she found in Madison's toys"

"Okay, I think she is finally ready to let me dive in to the bags!"

She was excited to put on her new poncho from grandma Mary! She looks so cute in it and she kept on flipping it up and down. She thought that was pretty funny. She also received an orange dress from Val and Sheldon that happened to match perfectly with the poncho. She wore them to church on Sunday and looked adorable - and got tons of compliments :-)

Another great book! Fun!!

Now time for the cake. Hannah has never eaten cake or anything with sugar (other than natural sugar like fruits) so I wasn't sure what kind of cake to make. I decided to do plain whip cream and strawberries for the "frosting" and do an angel food cake. She loved the strawberries and whip cream but didn't want anything to do with the cake. She did finally taste the cake but she wasn't a fan. That is fine with me - stick to the good stuff instead! :-)

She is signing "eat". It was so funny because right when she saw the cake she looked at Brock and started signing EAT EAT. Cute!!

Now she is signing "More" She is liking what she is eating and want more more more :-)

Dance, Dance, Dance

Madison had her last day of tap dance just before we left for Alabama. The kids did a dance for the parents and then we had a potluck. It was a fun end to the year. Madison has enjoyed doing tap and was able to conquer her fear of performing in front of people. They performed at church once and for the parents and friends once. We are very proud of her :-)

Happy Birthday Brock/Dad

Today, 33 years ago, Brock was born! I am so glad that God brought him into this world and has watched over him so faithfully every moment of his life. I am thankful that 13 years ago He brought us together and that every day since we have grown to love each other more and more. What I love most about him though is that He loves God (first and foremost) and that he loves us like crazy. He is an awesome dad and husband and is never afraid to show us he loves us. I feel lucky to have him in my life and I know the kids do too! Happy Birthday Brock!!

Aaron Espe in Concert

It was so fun for us to have Aaron do a concert at the theatre. It looked so good and the sound was awesome!! He is traveling around releasing his new CD. It is sooooo good - go get yourself one :-)

Here is one of the songs, "Small Town" from his new cd (Songs From A Small Town) Madison and Isaac love this song and can already sing most of the words. It is so cute to hear them belting it out!

"So Isaac, what did you think of the concert?"

I guess he is too busy piling in the popcorn to answer!! The next best thing to Aaron in concert for Isaac is the popcorn!!

Still too busy to talk - look at that big bite, it even requires him to lean back his head to be sure to get it all :-)
